SSL SMTP with Exchange 2007

By bbolton ·
Our company is migrating from a pop3 server to exchange 2007. In order to make the transition as smooth as possible I am setting up exchange as a pop3 server first. My goal is to replace the old server without any changes on the client side of outlook. I am running into a problem with SSL SMTP. We have SSL SMTP on port 465 on our old server. When I try the same setting in outlook pointing to the new exchange server I get an error message saying "the server did not support the encryption setting". Now if I select TLS, or no encryption it works. Encrypting pop3 works. Is there a setting in exchange that needs to be set to allow access via SSL on port 465? Please help
