Static IP’s and PC Anywhere 10.5

    Locked

    by rmessier ·

I would like to setup 4 different locations ( 4 different building) using SWB DSL static IP’s. I would like to put PC AnyWhere on all the computers (running XP) so I can run reports and retrieve my data on the computers anytime. I don’t want the computers (employees) to have access to the internet because this would affect production.

I plan on installing LinkSys Routers at all the locations so I will have a firewall in each building.

Can someone give me any ideas how I should go about setting this up.

    Thanks in advance….. Rod

We use PC Anywhere for certain applications, but in this case I wonder why you don’t want a WAN.
The most common way to do what you want, (If I understand you) is to set up LANs in each of the four locations (Minimum of one server per location.), and have only the servers transfer data over a VPN to each other. (Tunneling)
This creates a private WAN with no internet access.
(The internet is used only as a server link.)
      Regards, Chris
