stop sign with no error message

By NyTe ·
I have a pc which is bringing up an error box with no error message, just a red circle with a white cross in it. This is happening in Outlook 97. If you click on the ok button underneath the red circle, outlook crashes.

Any ideas???

possibly try reinstalling outlook in the event that these "crashes" are caused by a corrupt .dll or executable.

It's got be some sort of GFP or some other sort of memory overwrite protection. First I would uninstall and reinstall Outlook. If that doesn't work, I would uninstall any other programs you're running, reinstall Outlook and try it then. (If you nolonger get the error, try reloading each other program one at a time to try and weed out the culprit.) If THAT doesn't work, it's time to reload the operating system and all the other programs.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

If.. you have installed anything recently it may have overwrote system files that outlook also uses and cause the problem.

Perhaps this may be a corrupt HD. Before uninstalling and reinstalling stuff, have you tried running scandisk and defrag?

I know this is a simple approach, but many times it is the obvious which is overlooked.

Hope this helps!

I think in this case you have frist uninstall the Outlook and then install the Outlook again because there may be some files in Outlook that are corrupt.
Thank you.
