The cables you are seeing are for U B S pins on your mainboard,+5V=Hot,-D is Data,+D is Data,Gr. is ground. They are for a four U B S setup.

Hi Michael,

I assume that the case has front panel USB ports.

If your motherboard has an auxillary USB connector on it, these wires connect to that port.
Normally, this is a 10 pin (2 rows of 5 pins) header, but can be 2 seperate 5 pin headers, or a 10 pin with 1 pin missing.

They make the wires as 9 different single connections because there are several different pin-outs used for the on-board USB connections

If your motherboard does not have the USB header, or you do not wish to use the front panel ports, just tie the wires out of the way.

Chas

there are additional questions. the drawing in tne manual of shuttle av40s(av40s3) is misleading.
i have two rows-usb(extended header).
left: +5V, usb2-N(port2-), USBP2-P(port2+), GND,
right:+5V, USBP3-N(port3+), USBP3-P(port3-), ground, oc#(mustbe shield)

the two/four questioned cables are named 1/+D , 1/-D, 2/+D, 2/-D
i do not know where is positive and negative. expert told me after +5v comes +, ok?
