students can't find folder in my computer

OK here goes :)
I'm running a server with windows 2003. The clients are all windows 2000. All their accounts are stored on the server in a directory call storage on a drive called D. If they go to their desktop and open my computer that can see their account.
I decided to set up another directory on called tech courses. The idea was to set up folders for each of my classes inside of this so students could access it.I have all the folders created with the required permissions. I thought that when they went to my computer on their desktop they would be able to see this directory. They can't see tech courses.I can't get this to work. What am I missing. Is there a script or something I need to write.

Share the folder?

Did you share the folder as well as set the permissions?

drive mounting may be specific to that one directory first mentioned

Just because they see that specific drive does not mean they are seeing all of it. I can honestly say that even my home file server has specific folders mappable and not the full drives.

I would see if you have to have your students mount the new drive/folder.
