Swapping IP Blocks

By jason.devers ·
Recently Verizon told me they were changing there backbone to a new, more reliable, system. I'm not sure whether this we just a sales tool to get me to renew my contract or not but our contract was about to run up and I haven't had any problems with Verizon in the past so I went ahead and signed up for their new backbone. In doing so, I had to Apply for a new class c IP block and was accepted.

Now I have to Go around and change the TCP/IP settings of about 50 computers, including the DNS server (we are set up with static IP addresses).

This is where my IT experience takes me... I'm just trying to figure out what else is required for the switch before I call Verizon to activate the new IP block, and deactivate the old one. In some research I have found a few commands that should be run including, registerdns and dcdiag, both of which seem pretty simple but further help would be greatly appreciated.

So I guess the question is, what else, if anything, is required to change my IPaddress block in the DNS?
