System Hangs

I have just configure my system with window 2000 professional, but I notice once I run a programm after booting the system it hangs, what can I do to solve this problem cos' I really want to use the windows 2000.

One check to make sure you have updated drivers for W2K,specifically the video card driver
Consider downloading the SP1 for W2K,which may solve this problem,if you upgraded to W2K Pro,then go back and reload the programs on your system.

Check for programs that are running in the background,specifically the anti-virus software,screen savers or any other programs that load at start up

Verify that you do not have a previous version of the program in question installed on your machine. If you do, use the control panel to un-install the old program, re-boot, then install the new program again. What may be happening is that the new program has loaded a new file in the registry that is conflicting with the older version.
