SYSTEM RESTORE

Well here I go again... when the twain drives on my computer can't be found by the scanner or computer, I decided to do a system restore... Well the system restore on the 56 K 95/98/ME
the restore onlyu goes half way and shuts down, comes back on and says nothing has been changed on the system restore...so I tried another date and the same thing happens,,, What is wrong and can I fix it.. Thanks Trish

the reason system restore doesnt seem to work is probably because system restore has not taken any restore bind points - i think u need to create these yourself, by clicking the create restore point button the system restore - then if u get any problems you can restore to that point - i think if you do the microsoft update you can download the fixes to this program so it runs automatically

First run chkdsk from the command prompt it will say it is in read only mode, but that's ok. If it finds errors. Go to My Computer and right click the C: drive and choose properties then Tools. Then choose to check the drive for errors and check both boxes. It will then say you need to restart the computer. Once that is finished I would delete all the system restore points you have by going to system restore and check the box to stop monitoing drives. When that is done create a restore point yourself.
