A tape backup set cannot be accessed. Upon insertion into the tape drive the message “Unrecognized format you need to prepare media now” is displayed. The OS is windows 2000 professional. The tape was being used on the same system before it started giving this error message. The tape drive is a sony compatible promax drive. Also other tapes are working perfectly on this drive. Is there a way to access this data as it contains crucial information about our company.
