task manager

By jwscotterz ·
when starting task manager all i get is a single page with a list of running tasks, and buttons for ,end task, switch to, and new task. there are no page tabs to access running processes, networking stats, etc. and the only way to exit is by hitting the escape button.

Which version of Windows?

Your description is correct for the Task Manager in Windows 9X and Me.

For Windows 2000 and XP, you should have the more advanced task manager with processes and network stats.

I don't have a system with XP Home on it.
Since XP Home has fewer network features than Pro, it may have a less powerful task manager.

Not sure what OS you are running, but try copying taskmgr.exe from a working computer and see if that helps. If that fails, try unpacking it from the cabinet files.
