Taskalfa 5030ci printer IP not responding when using ping in CMD
I have a printer model “Taskalfa 5030ci”. I wanted the printer to print files via router rather than usb cable connected from printer to PC. My PC is connected to the router via ethernet cable and is running internet well. I did these steps trying to print documents through router:
1. I connected the printer to the router via ethernet cable (by the way the printer does not have an option in its settings to get connected to the router by wifi)
2. I assigned the following details in printer’s TCP/IP settings manually:
IPv4: 192.168.1.30 (as far as I know no other device in the network is having this IP)
subnet mask: 255. 255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.1.1 (I’m sure this is the correct gateway since I can reach to router’s admin panel through browser using this IP)
3. I made sure in my PC to assign different a IP, the same subnet mask and the same default gateway
4. I saw the LED light was on for the ethernet ports on both sides (printer & router)*** here is the problem: when I use ping command in CMD on my PC to ping to the printer (ping 192.168.1.30), the result in CMD shows that the PC can’t recognize the printer
I used the exact method shown in this video to set up the printer (I think the language spoken in video is Urdu, I don’t know Urdu, however, I followed the shown steps)
when I googled around trying to figure what the problem might be, I found some forums are saying that the printer’s network card might be defected, or it might be that the printer’s firmware needs updating.
So any ideas what the cause could be or what should I do to solve this problem. Thanks in advance
