TechRepublic MS-Word download ZIP format

By SROVO01 ·
I downloaded a file of MS-Word tips from the TechRepublic site. This file has the .ZIP extension. I use the WinZip (from Nico Mak Computing) software, and it doesn't recognize the file's format. What can I use to un-Zip the file?

Which set of Word tips.

The file wordtips

Is an rtf text document and not a zip file.

The ultimate Word compilation,

Is a zip file.

Mine is 2008KB in size, and opens for extraction with Windows XPs built-in file extractor.

If you have the wordtips file, change the extension to .rtf and the file should open in Word or Wordpad.

If you have the Word article compilation, try using Windows Explorer.
I have read that WinZip 9 does have some incompatibilities with some other zip programs.
(So does the latest version of PKZip.)

I'm not using XP, I'm required to use NT4.0 by corporate standard.
I tried downloading the file again (3rd time), and now it works. I guess I just got two bad downloads.

Thanks for the suggestions. I found WinRAR by looking through Google, downloaded it, and tried opening the ZIP file I downloaded from here. That got an error message, too! This was the second download of that file. So I tried downloading it once again. Now, WinZIP can open it, WinRAR can open it, with no problems. I think I just had two successive bad downloads.
