Temp. Internet Files shared by all users

    Locked

This has us stumped. We are running Exchange Server 5.5, which is also where the PDC resides. We run a separate Proxy server to connect us (the IT dept. on the local Lan) to the Internet. We also run Terminal Server with Citrix Metaframe 1.8 with users who connect to the Internet through their allowed desktop icons. The profiles are kept on the Exchange server, and the User Manager for Domains gives that location for their individual profile location. When we look through the user Profiles, some of the Internet users through Citrix have all of OUR cookies, browse info, etc. in THIER ‘Temporary Internet Files’ folder. However, it depends on who is looking at their folder. If I log on either locally or through Citrix, and then look at their temp file, I see MY information. I do not see any information relating to that particular user. If at the same time, another admin does the same thing, looking at the same user’s temp file at the same time I am seeing MY info, he sees HIS info. We see this informati

Well, the interesting thing is that the behaviour you explained is exactly how the Termporary Internet files work. Even if you didn’t have Citrix and you were just connecting to someone’s shared C drive on the network. If you try to look in their Temporary Internet files folder, you will see your own.

“This behaviour is by design” to quote a Microsoft phrase…. 🙂

I understand that, what my question was (and although it says 1000 word limit, it cut me off…) where do I find these files actually stored? They cause a 2 – 3 minute logon delay in Citrix. I know I need to delete them. I will talk to Tech Rep about cutting off my question because that was not fair to you. Thanks anyway. I’ll repost if you have that answer so that I can rate your answer.

Yep, we have an NT 4.0 network (server and workstation). I can connect to the c$ share on any ws in the domain, and when I look at Temporary Internet Files, all I see is mine. Same with Recycle Bin too.

Thanks for answering, but the question cut off before I got to the crux: Where are they stored so that I can manage them? They are causing huge delays in Citrix logon times. I will repost if you want to answer that.
