The format of the specified network name is invalid

by nitrogen.se . Updated 17 years, 1 month ago

Hi,

I’ve been researching for some time now and can’t actually find a solution to the problem..

I’m running Windows XP Pro, and trying to connect to the domain running on the Windows Server 2003 (Enterprise Edition).

Once I select system properties and click on “change” it asks me for the username and password, once i type it the error pops up saying: The format of the specified network name is invalid..

All i’m doing is trying to setup a small network at home, the computers are not connected to the internet and I can ping the domain name (domainname.com) from the client machine…by IP address, domianname.com, srv4.domainname.com all work.. (srv4 is the server name)..

Any one have any idea I would be more then greatful, been trying to sort it thsi out for days now and getting really frustrated :P..

Thanks..
