Thin Client Email Program

By rlwolfgram ·
Heres the background: I have 6 stores; 5 remote & 1 main where my servers are located. Our new POS software at the remote stores connects to the main store thru Terminal Services Remote Desktop and a SonicWall VPN.

My problem: I want my remote location's thin clients to have email & internet capabilities. IE is available on the thin client but I cannot find a thin client version of an Outlook-type email program. The biggest thing is that I want graphical signatures. I would settle for a webmail that would allow either graphical signatures or HTML code pointing to graphics saved on my website. The big issue that I can't use IE or Outlook on thru terminal services is that when the clients connect thru RDP, they will be using my bandwidth to check the internet and email.

Look For OWA

by Wayne M. In reply to Thin Client Email Program

Microsoft's web version of Outlook is called OWA (I don't recall what the abbreviation stands for). It is actually one of the best web applications I have seen. You can leave it running all day and it will announce incoming mail and also appointments from the Outlook Calendar. Your local Microsoft rep should be able to fill in the details.
