Hard disk controllers not configured proper.

While running win98 s/2 on A IBM Think Pad 600, under System Properties, Devise Manager, the hard disk controllers lists a Intel 82371 AB/EB PCI BUS Master IDE Controller @ IRQ 14. Below that are two Standard BUS Mastering IDE hard disk Controller. One @ IRQ 14 and one @ IRQ 15. The Intel 82371 AB/EB has an “!” in front. Here is what the resources look’s like.

Resource Type Setting
Input/output 01F0-01F7
Input/output 03F6-03F6
Interrupt Request 14
Input/output 0170-0177
Input/output 0376-0376
Interrupt Request 15
Input/output Was FCFO-FCFF I Changed to Value Input/output 0860-086F

When I changed the input/output value to 0860-086F. Now the two Standard BUS Mastering IDE hard disk Controller, That were there, has change to Primary IDE
Controller (dual FIFO) and Secondary IDE Controller (dual FIFO). But now the CD-ROM is not running, it doesn’t show up in the device manager. I have also tried removing the Hard disk controllers and rebooting to have windows find it, which it does, but now I
Get the two Standard BUS Mastering IDE hard disk Controller back again, with the
Yellow exclamation point. I have also gone in to safe mode to remove the Intel 82371 AB/EB PCI BUS Master IDE Controller. Still no luck. Can anyone help? Thanks.
