Throttling ISP Speed

By ydobonmai ·
I have a website which has video on it in three different bandwith formats - 512, 150 and 48. I have a 512kbps DSL line.

I wanted to know if there was any way to temporarily reduce the speed of my ISP to test the download times on different speeds.
Otherwise i would have to get myself a dialup line and a 128kbps broadband connection.

Please help

If you have a router it may be possible to set max download speeds in this or maybe even in your DSL Modem depending on the make.

It's not something I've ever tried to do but if you really must see how things are working why can't you go to different sites with a Dial Up and slower DSL connection and test there?

CCProxy will let you control bandwidth and I believe has a trial period.

So, setup a proxy using CCProxy (or something similar) and do your testing.
