time and internet tracking for small business

By Lara ·
I am looking for advise on software that will track primarily log in/ out time on programs for 1-3 users(on one computer), program activity and It is not a must, but I would be interested in tracking what web sites the users had been looking at. I also have access to this computer to check information on the program. If the software runs in the background, I doubt any of the users are sofisticated enough to find it.

SurfControl for internet reporting

by AristonCC In reply to time and internet trackin ...

Unless you have some sort of managed firewall solution you may have to look into something like SurfControl to monitor internet usage. For a small business that might be overkill. If you are familiar with using Linux applications you might be able to route your traffic through a Linux server that will keep logs.

Regarding the other items unless the application support monitoring of log in/out times it'll be difficult to determine when someone opens or closes an application. You could write some sort of script to watch for an executable firing, but then you'd be getting pretty complex.

Good luck!
