Sounds like you need a new CMOS battery.

When you shut down some PCs, the clock runs off of the battery used to back up the CMOS memory that saves the BIOS settings.

For most motherboards, this battery is a lithium coin cell about the size of a US quarter.

Hi ,

The CMOS battery ordering details are CR 2030, It will cost in some few cents only. Also available in all eletronic parts shops and some watch shops. Thats all.

You didn't say if the time advanced or fell back. If the CR2032 battery doesn't help, then you may have a "spy" or "virus". It's a good idea anyway to have "AdAware" or "Spybot Search and Destroy", free download from Cnet.com. Hopefully you have a decent antivirus program.

all of the previous answers would fit on a list of things to check and I might add one more, not to overlook the obvious, check the properties in the date and time settings is the time zone correct and is the clock set to the correct AM/PM if not you might be changing time because it is 12:00 AM instead of 12:00 PM

good luck
