Toshiba Satellite or Window problem?

By Sky_R32_Line ·
I've had my 2nd Toshiba Satelite notebook for about a half a year now. The first notebook's graphic card just went bad on the first week I had it. Just recently, my USB port mouse shuts off at random times. I would plug it up to a different USB port then it would work and shut off at a random time again. It would do that to all 3 ports until all of them no longer work until I restart the computer. It gets frustrating when I have to restart every time I finish plugging to all 3 USB ports. I've tried a different mouse and still get the problem and I've bought a Fix It program and still having the problem.

Anyone know if this problem has anything to do the notebook or maybe Window is doing this somehow? I was maybe thinking reloading Window might help. Would that be a waste of time? Please help.

Sounds more like a Hardware problem

But to really test it either buy or download a Live Linux from here

Boot off the CD and see if the problem persists. If it does you defiantly have a hardware problem with the M'Board in the NB and if it works the problem is in the Windows Install.

BTW you can use a Live Linux without doing any damage to the Windows install as it loads into RAM and runs from there so it's an ideal Hardware testing method.

common problem

This is a common problem with all laptops and laser mice as there is a compatability issue and conflict with the hardware. The answer to your problem is to install a third party software that comes with the mouse.Microsoft also has a third party software that you can download which configures the mouse to the laptop.
