Resently I have notice a lot of computer running windows xp and they come to my job with the following problem.

Every time they try to log to the internet the received error stating the the tpc/ip can't be found. This also happen to me last month, so what I did was restore my computer and it started to work again. What is causing this to happen and in the resent week it look like is happening more frequency.

Thank you in advance for your response

I don't know if this well relate to your problem or not, but on my system if I play around in with the network setting to much I'll lose the TCP/IP. I found the root of the problem to be in the EAP fold in the registry. For some reason windows will duplicate the two folders that are in there and cause a problem.
Here is how I repair the problem.
Go to run and type in REGEDIT & then go to
1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE & then go to
2. SYSTEM & then go to
3. CurrentControlSet & then go to
4. SERVICES & then go to
5. RASMAN & then go
6. PPP & then go to
7. EAP
In EAP there should be only two folders 13 & 4 delete the all others.

The full path will look like this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP
