Transfer of Active Directory

By chrislord2010 ·
I am building a new box(will be running Server 2003). I need to transfer the active directory from the older server to the newer server. The older server is also running Server 2003.

I need to know ASAP. I would like to have detaild instructions that I can also be able to print off and save for a rainy day.

---EDIT---

I aslo need to know what to do when the two servers are on the network. Wouldn't they clash over the network? If so what would I do.

On how you want to accomplish this. One way would be to install the server into the existing domain, promote it to a DC then transfer all the FSMO roles to it, add dns, dhcp (if used) etc and then demote the old DC. Have you used Google? --> http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=move+active+directory+to+new+server&aq=0&aqi=g10&oq=move+active+&fp=c807e9ccc08a197a
