What is the name of the trojan? McAfee has a free scan that you can run from their site without installing any software.

To stop this happening again, you can get a FREE anti-virus program that allows you free updates for life! It has been rated better than McAfee or Symantecs Norton at spotting virus/trojans or worms. Go to
www.grisoft.com
and click on the AVG FREE VERSION link.

They may also have some info on how to remove your trojan-just type its name into the search box. Good Luck!

I have AVG on my PC. It has been installed for over a year and does update but does not find anything. I even downloaded the pro version and still nothing. I do not know the name of the trojan that I have because I uninstalled the scan that found it.

Glenda:
Not knowing what the Trojan was, you may want to try a DOS Virus Scan. I have use the DOS trial version of NOD32 whenever I am on location and suspect Klez or some other Viruscanning program defeater. Download trial DOS version at: http://www.nod32.com/download/trial.htm

The Stinger program that "Dream" is talking about is also a good tool, you can find it at http:/vil.nai.com/vil/stinger. It looks for 36 common viruses and trojans.
Good Luck

Trojan detection:

There are many trojan removal tools, AVG is an awesome AV system but not a way of detecting and removing trojans.

http://tinyurl.com/qzkw Free and fully active for 30 day trail

Spybot is OK yet will only catch common trojans, FREE. http://tinyurl.com/27dll

This page on HACK FIX offers links to several trojan detection/removal programs. The Software Test reults like will show you which programs are catching which trojans, you can the download them from the site.

Sorry I forgot to include the link for Hack Fix.

If you identify but can't remove the trojan, post back I've got a bunch of good removal tools.
