    Trouble Shooting with a laptop

    Locked

    by dennisbv ·

I would like to know if there are any propgrams, that I can install on my laptop and connect with another laptop or PC to trouble shoot useing my Laptop and its programs like Norton on some other. Most programs I know of need to be installed on both machines. Are there any that only need to be on my laptop?

Your question can be answered non-specific to laptops. As a System Administrator you are looking for something like; PCAnywhere, Carbon Copy or Timbuckto. If your goal is to ‘troubleshoot’ problems on remote machines within your network (intranet, internet) then any of the above will provide you with the connectivty you need. The CATCH is: all three need to be installed on both the ORIGINATING as well as the DESTINATION machine. Is that a problem? Why?

      Enjoy 🙂

Fortunately the answer is NO. The reason that I say this is fortunate is that if you could anybody could go around linking into other computers. The programs on the market such as PCAnywhere or Laplink have to be installed on both computers involved. Sorry.
