Trouble with Win XP and NERO InCD

    Locked

    by rob_jantz ·

I am still having trouble with InCd from Nero on an amd thunderbird 1.3ghz running windows XP. If I have InCd installed I cannot see the files on a CDR disk unless I go into Nero burning rom and then go out and go into my computer and look at the cdr disk and then I can see them. But if I put a different cdr disk in, I can’t see the files on the disk. I have the lastest InCd from nero’s website. If I uninstall InCd I can see the files fine on the cdr disk. Thanks in advance.

It does sound like a CD Drive/BIOS conflict. Is the BIOS set to auto-detect the IDE channel that the CD Drive is connected to?

I also recommend having just the standard CD_ROM drive connected at first. XP has a bug for dealing with CD-RW drives that is fixed in the downloaded updates.

You can download the boot floppy creation program from the Microsoft. The filename is WinXP_EN_PRO_BF or WINXP_EN_HOM_BF. They are 4MB files and use 5-8 Floppies

I had a similar problem,Try changing the jumper settings of the cd writer to Master and the cd-rom drive to slave.Or if these are your settings reverse them.It solved my problem completely.
