i am a pc-recycler with quite deep knowledge. an old 486 of an important client had a current-interruption during scandisk. i have already deactivated the virtual memory before defrag, then started scandisk when the mistake took place. now the harddisk is on an safe pc and i will make backups of it. the customer used wordstar4(dos). when is start windows it stops saying something is wrong with 256_1024.DRV(THE DRIVER IS in system.ini(display.drv=256_1024.DRV). UNFORTUNATLY all the system-data(ms-dos 6.22 and win 3.1 is french but i have only german versions. can i exchange the am file by a german one or proceede a new windows(german)-setup over the old one? i have already made the latter but with all german-systems. who knows links for olddos/windows/wordstar thanks michael przewrocki
