How do you limit the issuance of Microsoft's Terminal Server licenses to specific workstations? I've tried following the MS white paper and adding workstations to the Terminal Server Computer Group, this doesn't work. The licensing server continues to issue licenses to any device requesting a license.

Are you issuing per seat or per user CAL's?

Check out this Microsoft site:

Are you sure your TS licensing server is set for licensing per device? Sounds like you might be set up in "per user" licensing mode, which will issue a license to authorized users regardless of what device they are connecting from.

Hope this helps!

Yes, I'm 100% certain we're using Per Device Cal's, we worked with Microsoft Tech Support, just to get terminal server to issue licenses. According to Microsoft, the ability to select specific nodes to receive licenses failed in their lab environment and they don't have a real viable solution at this time, other than to monitor the node names receiving licenses and if one does get a license that shouldn't, go to that node and turn off terminal services service. WHich in a large plant such as ours, can quickly become a logistical nightmare.!!
