Unable to access a shared printer

By nicoda ·

We have quite a special config required by a particular software used in our company.
One of our server (Windows 2000 server) need to use local printers installed on some PC (Win2000 pro) in the company. A local user is used on both (we are in domain, but the software need to use a local user).
The problem is that since a few days, the local user from the server can't access the printer anymore. We checked that the local users still have the same name and password, and it's still OK. Security settings on the pc haven't changed.
If we try to access a share on the PC, it ask for a password and lock the pc local user after 3 attempts, meaning the user name is correct.
There is no problem to access a share with a domain admin account.

Thanks for any help.
