I have several computers within my organization that when I set up outlook to connect through internet mail, using pop3, to our exchange server, the logon credentials keep popping up. All the machines are running WinXP, no windows firewall turned on. The credentials are good, because in the interim I have the users using OWA to access their emails, with no problem.
I have looked at the MS knowledgebase and found resolutions concerning anti-virus programs, which I uninstalled with no change.
I set up a new user test account and tried to login thru the pop3 account with that new info, no luck. Comes back to the username and password prompt again.
My login has administrator rights within the domain, and when I use those creditials to login thru pop3, i get all my emails on that users workstation.
Suggestions?
I posted this question earlier in the week under support email/messaging and got no responses – I’m sure someone out there has some ideas!
