my question is about upgrating to winxp, I have an athlon 1600+ system, it has win98 on it, so when I try to upgrade it to XP it would start the setup and all of a sudden it stops saying unable to copy file press enter to retry so i did and it kept on going,it may do that a few times and than it just won’t go any more, it would stop in the middle of set up, so it corrups my win98 installation and it will make me start all over again,so I thougth i was my cd so i tryed it on another computer andit worked!
so is not the CD.
It would do the same if i try to install win2k as well,the system is new, i ran out of ideas allready! can some body please give me some advice on this issue, or perhaps some body had a similar problem and can give me some insigths on it!
I;m able to setup win98 with out any problem the problem starts when i try to upgrade, by the way I also try clean install and i got the same “unable to copy file” messege!
I also swich CD drives with one i know it works, same thing !
