Unix Printing of large jobs

by agnelkagoo . Updated 21 years, 7 months ago

We are having a problem with large lp jobs(more than 15 pages). When these jobs are submitted to the printer from the unix server, they print about 10 or 12 pages and then restart from page 1 again and go thru page 10 and restart again.
We then use the cancel command and cancel the job and it gets cancelled but a new print job is automatically spawned in a few minutes until we clear out the file in /var/spool/print. This is not happening for the larger printers like the HP 8000N etc.

any suggestions on what to look for? We are suspecting some low buffer setting on the printer but have no idea what to look for and where?

Regards,
Agnel
