Unpatched computers are a security risk

By jsiebers ·
Think of all the potential zombies out there and what that could do to the infrastructure. DOS and DDOS attacks could consume a substantial amount of bandwidth, crippling communiation, businesses, government and individual users. All windows machines should have security patches available for all of our safety.

but it seems more people are worried if they will have to pay for windows or if M$ will get the money from illegal copies out there.

I see it the same way, where EVERY windows system that is unpatched threatens everyone else. Whether they paid M$ for that copy of not doesn't lessen the risk to the rest of the computer users.

I feel that is a poor choice of how to go after pirates, by risking the legal users.
