Unregistering DLLs

By GJ2008 ·
Can anyone provide me with instructions on how to unregister DLL files in Windows XP Home Edition? I don't know too much about the registry but need to unregister some dlls as part of a manual removal of malware process.

Close up spaces, if any, in the URL after you paste it.

Go to Start --> Run and type the syntax below.
regsvr32 /u (dllname.dll) to unregister.

regsvr32 (dllname.dll) to register.

If for some reason it will not unregister just by the dll name. Try putting in the entire location, for example

regsvr32 /u C:\Program Files\XYZ\XYZ Folder\xyz.dll

Hope that helps.

you do not need to put the parenthesis around the dll name.

just type this

resvr32 /u dllname.dll

make sure you put a space in between regsvr32 and /u and a space between /u and dllname.dll
