This company has to be one of the last exchange 5.5 hold outs. They don?t have the money to upgrade there hardware to be able to run the latest software. There are only 4 mailboxes.
The network consists of 3 Dell servers running W2K. Two PE2450?s and one PE1300. The plan is to eliminate the PE1300 which is running Exchange 5.5. Upgrade the two PE2450?s to 2003 sever and load Exchange 2003 on one of them. I have maxed the hardware out on both the 2450?s to 2 gig of ram and dual 1 gig CPU?s.
I plan on loading 2003 sever from scratch rather than doing an upgrade as each of the PE2450?s has problems. So do I upgrade the PE2450?s, load exchange and do an export of outlook for the 4 mailboxes and import them to the new exchange server or upgrade the servers then try to do a migration of exchange?
