Upgrade to Windows 98 SE and Office 2000

by regarchrm . Updated 25 years, 10 months ago

I just purchased Office 2000 Professional Full version for installation. I am currently running Windows 95 and Office 97 Small Business. The Office 97 was not a good installation and has some missing files in both Word and Publisher. I no longer have the CD, so I can’t reinstall this.

My question is two part:

1. Should I consider upgrading to at least Windows 98 before I install Office 2000 and

2. Do I need to remove all of my Office 97 installation before I install the full version of Office 2000. I was told that I needed the full version and not the upgrade in my situation. I am concerned about what will happen to all of my Office 97 related files. Can I install Office 2000 over my current Office 97? I am planning to back these up.

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You
