I have a fileserver that is configured as RAID 5, 800 GB and is currently running Win server 2003 enterprise edition 32 bit. I need to add storage to the server and my company purchased storage 5 TB. I am pretty sure the max size limit for a volume on 32 bit server is 2 TB so I need to upgrade the current OS from 32 bit to 64 bit.
I have a few questions is the max size for 32 bit 2 tb? Also is it possible to just upgrade the OS without doing full install? I am thinking I prob not. Also if the OS is on the C: drive and data on D: drive. I should be able to install the new OS without impacting the data on the D: drive, Correct?? Really appreciate advice on this one!!
I am interested in any suggestion you may have.
