i cannot connect to a shared printer off another machine(which is an xp) on the network. my machine is also an xp machine.
the printer is a hp laserjet cp1515n printer which uses a usb port to connect.
the printer shows up in the directory in the ‘add a printer’ wizard but when i select it to add it, it gives me an error saying that my computer cant connect to this printer and that the machine may have lost its connection to the server.
when i try connect to the printer using the ‘\\server\printer’ method a box appears askin me to enter the administrator username and password for the machine on which the printer is physically connected to. after doing that an error message comes up telling me that i cannot connect to the printer.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
