what are you trying to install on? a twain device scanner, camera, should be located on the cameras cd-rom or it need to be pulled of the windows cd-rom. usb is only supported by win95 osr2 (memory could be off?) win 98,and newer versions. check all the requirements off the package the camera came with.

If you did not get documentation along with the camera, check the camera manufactures web page for installation instructions.

Normally, with the camera disconnected, you insert the CD, and allow it to autorun, and install the software.

If it does not autorun, use the run option on the start menu, browse to the CD, and run setup.

After instaling the software, you may be told to restart your computer.

After the computer restarts, you should be able to plug in the camera and download your photos.

The "twain" driver is part of the software. It is a "standard" driver for digital imaging. Most image editing programs use the twain driver to communicate with cameras and scanners.
