USB Drive Support in Netware 6.5

By jf555 ·
It is clear that Netware 6.5 supports USB keyboard and mouse, however, does anybody know it as a fact and has verified whether or not Netware 6.5 also supports the USB attached hard drives?

Thanks,

Jeff

I have not seen a definitive answer, but I STRONGLY suspect the USB hard drives are not supported. There is a patch, I think, for installing netWare from a bootable USB CD-ROM, but that's as close as it comes.

The real question is, "Why?". USB would be notoriously slow for a server. If you are thinking about using it as a backup device, better to put it on a workstation and simply copy the files.

Netware 6.5 is reported to suport USB drives and with SP1.1 added automatic mounting of them. I am about to try this feature to back up a remote server. With Novell's excellent track record I suspect that I will be successful.
