USB flash connectivity

By mauri_1848 ·
I installed a new w2k server sp4, all services are working fine (DHCP, DNS, PDC, etc), but for some weird reason, any workstation can't use memory flash drives... When I connect them, XP seems to recognize them, but the drive never shows up. I am wondering if there are some setting that I don?t know (probably a policy setting) that prevent stations to install new drives, or use flash drives. Does anyone know someone?

Do the user accounts have the access rights to be able to install the device?

What i think might have happened is "do you have mapped drives" because if you do and you have used the next letter eg d:\cdrom e:\mapped drive
you will find people will have to select the drive they want for there key in My computer > Manage > Disk management...

So if you do map drives start at f: and above.

Xp seems to have a problem with finding the next available drive if it's the letter after the last piece of hardware.
