Use NNTP in IIS 6 to download .znb

By moe_sizzlack002 ·
Hi ya, I'm trying to figure out how to configure NNTP in IIS 6 on 2k3 so that I can download .nzb files from usenet sites. I am tired of paying a provider every month. Can anyone give me some pointers or a link to a page about setting it up.I have NNTP running, but Grabit will not DL to it. I have the ports forwarded to go to the server. I know this prolly a newbie question but never set up NNTP before.

NNTP is a protocol but you need an application to go with it that allows you to subscribe or host NNTP groups.

MS Exchange provides some features to create or subscribe to newsgroup and Outlook Express to read the articles.

Obviously this costs money to set up.

You need either an ISP with access to the internet and then you subscribe to groups
such as

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/default.mspx

An excellent news reader is Agent or Free Agent from:
