Use SMTP to send email within internal network

Hi

We have windows 2003 domain which has an Exchange 2003 mail server. Within perfmon, I would like to be able to send alert emails from various internal servers to internal email users to advise them of the alerts. What is the best method of doing this ? Do I need to install another SMTP app ? Bmail or BLAT for example ?
