User profile issue

By boomio ·
I have been looking for a while to sort this out, but unfortunately I dont really have the time to keep doing it, so I am hoping somebody will know the answer!!!!
I am working on a w2k laptop and I connect to a nt server. I logged on yesterday and it said that my user profile is corrupted, windows will create a temp user profile etc etc.....
Now I have tried a million things to correct the problem, but none seem to work. Any suggestions please????

Easiest way around this is to copy another profile, modify it to include your profile information and copy it back in place of the original. You could also try to repair the registry file (ntuser.dat) under you profile. If you're lucky, it could be repaired and fixed. But I wouldn't be too hopeful with that one.

what are a few of the million things you have tried so far? might be helpful so we don't give a bunch of answers that you already tried.

off the bat my initial attempt would be to back up the needed data, **** the profile away, recreate it, and restore the data.
