Veritas Backup Exec 9.1- Active directory backup

By castro_alex23 ·
I have never used Veritas to backup servers or nor I have much experience with it. I was wondering if anyone know how to back up your Active Directory using Veritas Backup Exec Version 9.1? Any help would be appreciated. The operating system is Windows XP if that helps. Thanks.

You want to install a Backup Exec Remote Agent onto the domain controller (all of them if you're running more than one) and ensure that you select the "System State" in the backup selections.

Hey Alex,
If you purchasing Backup Exec, you should also consider encrypting the backup tapes. BE is known for high encryption overhead. so you can check out zecurion zbackup product that encrypts Backup Exec backup tapes. I saw them @ Info Security expo this year and they won couple awards there. let me know how you make out...
