I have the above mentioned specs and i am facing some problem. whenever the backup hit 55-56GB, it stop and prompt for a new tape to be inserted. Called compaq and they’re saying there’s nothing they can do abt it as it’s a compression algorithm issue. How much data you can backup depend on the compression used. Before using Veritas, i am using Arcserve to backup the same amount of data to the same drive with no problem, even w/o compression. Why is tht so????
Under backup exec,i chosen “use hardware compress, if not software”. Is that the best option i shld choose? or shld i choose software compression?
Need help on this.
