verizon malware

After installing verizon DSL software,my firewall
asked permission for mcci+McciBrowser to access
the internet.What is mcci+McciBrowser,and why does
it report back to verizon.Techsupport does not
acknowledge the exsistence of this software.Is this spyware or a legitement application ?
Please explain you findings.

It is a verizon support tool

You should see it in a sub-folder of the Verizon folder. I am unsure of it's exact capibilities, but you do not need it for DSL access. It is likely associated with the support links they plaster on your desktop.

You should be able to remove it

from Add/Remove Programs. It is legitimate software that you may not require. Download and run ccleaner to remove all temp files.
