We have a new closed Linux PC running ADABAS, but we also have a Windows ODBC driver. However the connection is painfully slow, and results in Excel\Access crashing or the PC/Laptop locking up. Ping times are less that 1ms, the server is in it’s own network in a proprietory control system, and hangs off a new Cisco switch. It’s the same from any PC, but I can connect to my other control systems 90 miles away over the WAN and query a SQL Server database and get results back in seconds. Any ideas as to how I can improve the speed? it’s driving my users nuts. Well – ok – more nuts than they were to start with…
