    Video Auto switch

    Locked

    by wootfepp ·

Does anyone have any ideas on this? I work on the IT staff for a medical facility, we are deploying a bunch of tablets that lock into mobile docks that have a keyboard, mouse and monitor attached to them. The problem I am facing is, whenever the machine is docked, regardless of who is logged into the tablet, I need the screen to blank out on the tablet and only display on the monitor attached to the dock. I have configured the video to do just that and when someone else logs in, it doesn’t blank out the tablet screen. If it were just a few people using these tablets, I would have each of them log in and do it. Unfortunately, there’s going to be lots of people logging into these machines, so that’s not wuite an option. Any help on this would be great. They are all using XP Tablet edition.

If you set the video out as you want it and then copy that profile to the default users profile, does it stay set right when each new user logs in for the first time?

This wouldn’t work with anyone that has already created a local profile on there, so they would need to be deleted.

You have to go into the monitor or Video settings..

Go into the monitor/video settings and make the main monitor: I:E, the default monitor being the External monitor.

      Figured it out

Thank you all for your help. I finally found out that this particular machine has a propriety piece of software that has the setting to get it to blank out the screen. Under normal circumstances the other suggestions would have worked great, but this software was causing it to render back to the default until I stumbled across it and applied it to the default user profile.
