Video card problems

By Stanleymichaels ·
After installing a GeForce2 64bit Video card on a WinXP PC the 'settings' tab disappeared from display properties and I can't change the display settings. Tried new drivers and reinstalling the card, but don't want to format the drive.
Any suggestions???

Video card problems

Did you have an agp card on the motherboard before? if not you'll need to load the drivers for the motherboard first toget the agp slot to function properly, then install the gforce drivers. Otherwise download the latest nvidia drivers from nvidia for xp. Formatting the drive is not a requirement to installing a video card, but making sure the mother board has the support turned on for the agp slot is.
Good luck

Its a new motherboard and i did install all of the drives for it and for the video card and of course the support for the agp slot is on and for the pci.
The problem turned out to be in the group policy's.The hide settings tab wasn't configured.
