video display problems

I am building a server with a gigabyte bxd motherboard (1) pentium 650 (2) sticks 128 pc 100 ram an ati rage video card a fast track 100 ide raid card (2) ibm 15 gb drives mirrored a 3com network card and an isa modem. While trying to install nt 4.0 I try to install the video adapter and after it is restarted it says that it is install correctly but it only displays 16 bit color and 640x480 or 800x600. please help

Did you install the service pack for NT after you installed the video driver? Most adapters will not function at full capacity without service packs (usually at least sp4 or 5, but highest is 6a). Hope this helps.

Thank you for the suggestion. I do have service pack 6a though and it was no help

There still might be a driver problem. Download the latest NT drivers from ATI make sure you get the right one. Most of the ATI has an setup file run that.

I have checked on ati's web site and I do have the most up to date drivers. Thank you for the suggestion though
